Burt Addressing the City Council About the Performing Arts Center

Why Frisco Needs a Performing Arts Center

Burt Thakur recently addressed the Frisco City Council, sharing his views on the $300-$380 Million Performing Arts Center (PCA).

The PCA will require 3 parts for funding:

1. $160 Million reallocation of funds from Frisco’s EDC and CDC funds. This portion is going to be on the May ballot.

2. $100 Million from Prosper ISD. In exchange, Prosper ISD will get to use the PCA for 60% of the year with first right of refusal.

3. $100-$120 Million in private and public charitable donations.

Additionally, each year a $5-$6 Million operation cost will be required. The city of Frisco will be responsible for this.

Currently, Frisco ISD is building a $54 Million arts center as well. McKinney is building a $300 Million one backed by Troy Aikman.
